Recognizing and further highlighting the issue of differential impacts of climate change on women raised by the Sathsathai Foundation from Kalapatthar, the Everest region, on 8th March 2022 to mark the International Women’s Day, the Foundation organized a sharing meeting with the title “Women’s Voice from the Himalaya: Women United for Climate Justice and Nature-based Tourism Development”.
Together with the Ministry of Culture, Tourism, and Civil Aviation (MoCTCA) it this sharing program was conducted on Wednesday, 6th July 2022, at Basera Boutique Hotel, Babarmahal Kathmandu from 3 PM to 5 PM. Honorable Minister Mr. Jiwanram Shrestha has consented to be the Chief Guest of the meeting. A special documentary video on the 40 Women’s Journey to the Everest Base Camp has been presented during the event.
In the event “The International Women’s Day” has been officially announced as the annual event to be celebrated in the Everest region of Nepal by Prajeeta Karki, chairperson of the Sathsathai Foundation. Sathsathai will observe International Women’s Day in the Everest region each year.
