One of the declaration points made in Kalapatthar is that it “Appeals all the Provincial Governments to integrate climate planning in the Provincial Planning.” Keeping with this, Sathsathai conducted its first provincial event focusing on women impacted by climate change in Janakpurdham, Madesh Pradesh on 01 April, 2022. The event was attended by the Chief Minister of Madesh Province Lal Babu Raut, Hon. Judge Sapana Malla Pradhan, lawmaker Manju Yadav, deputy mayor, wards representatives, social activists, and media persons. Minister Raut put his concern about women being much more impacted by climate change, saying that the issue should be of primary concern to all the responsible authorities. He also emphasised about the need to strengthen women engagement in the economy, in politics, and overall society, and how that that was necessary to make a difference in reducing gender biases and violence against women. Chairperson Ms. Karki shared the organization’s aim to contribute to climate change and women empowerment. She further added that, together with the right will and the right kind of opportunity, women were capable of achieving great heights. The recent women marching to Kalapathar is a demonstration of this, she said.
